We want the Lord to go before us in our preparation and at the Hip Hope Event on April 22nd. We want God to make the rough places smooth. We need God to break-through the hardest of hearts in Chicago.~Isaiah 45:1-10

Day 8: Release of his Glory.

The Glory of God is the weight of God’s presence. The glory of God is also the beauty of His spirit. It is not a physical beauty or a natural beauty, but it is the beauty that radiates from His character, from all that He is. So, ask the Lord to show himself in clear way to everyone involved in this outreach. The Glory of God produces supernatural encounters-salvation's, healings, miracles, spiritual transformation etc. Please pray that the Glory of the Lord will cover the south-side Chicago as we reach out to that community. ~ Habakkuk 2:14, Psalm 108:5-6

Day 7: Release of Provision.

Ask the Lord provide resources we will need for the Chicago Missions Trip. Since we are still doing fund raisers. Ask the lord to bring in more sponsors. We need finances for gifts, transportation etc-Matthew 6:19-34, Philippians 4:19

Day 6: Release of Love

We need to understand His love for us. Scriptures says that we love because Christ first love us. So, we need to love others. God has called us to Love him and everyone coming to the Chicago missions trip. We have to minister out of love and relate to teammates out of love. Pray that everyone we meet on the streets, in schools and at the big event will encounter the Love of Christ – John 15:9-17, Romans 8:37-39, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8, 1 John 3:14-16, 1 John 2:7-17

Day 5: Release of humility

:Whatever we think we know, we need to humble ourselves before the Lord. We don’t want pride in anything we do during our missions trip or at anytime. We need to treat each other with humility, so there is no room for pride during this outreach. So, lets ask Christ to give us humility. ~James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:6

We are asking the lord to renew our hearts and minds for this outreach. We want the heart and mind of Christ. Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 51:10-17

Day 3: Consecrate yourself before the Lord

To consecrate means to devote or dedicate. So, we ask the Lord to make us more dedicated or devoted to Him, before, during and after this outreach in Chicago. Let us cry out to the Lord to touch to change us and to change Chicago and our cities~ Joel 1:14, Joel 2:15

Day 2: One Thing Life Purpose.

We ask Christ to anoint you with hunger for the Word & Prayer. Ask for deeper intimacy. Intimacy comes before any type of ministry at Chicago. Ask Him to send His word to wake us up if we lose focus or drift- Psalm 27; especially Psalm 27:4.

Day 1: Ask the lord to search your heart

In preparation for Chicago Missions;  ask God to search your motives. As we go to Chicago, it is important that we all seek God to search our hearts of all incumberance and sin.  Ask God to also show any selfish interests you might have in our hearts. Psalm 139:23-24, Jeremiah 29:13

2010 in a flash

Posted by NWM on December 31, 2010 at 7:32 PM Comments comments (0)

In the beginig of this year we planned to go to Egypt but God redirected our path. It was when we didn't feel led to go at that time that things began to fall apart around us. In the middle of this hard time we felt God calling us to go to Alexandria, Virginia which is part of Washington DC, just as He had called moses out of his homeland into a new country. God told us we would be in a very different place in a year and that was true. Through the difficult times this year God was faithful and He led us into our new season in Alexandira, Virginia.

After 5 years of faithfully serving as campus directors at Long Beach State University and 2 years at Dominguez Hills God moved us into a new season of ministry. It was very hard to leave the ministry on those two campuses and all the students we had worked with behind, but God gave us a promise that the work on those campuses will be fine. It is encouraging now to see their continued growth and maturity as they work with the local churches and volunteer staff that took over the work after we moved across the country.

This year as a mentioned earlier we also moved across the country, which was a huge leap of faith. Since moving we have seen God meet us here in numerous ways. We have met many new friends and connected with a church family. We have seen Hip Hope Open Mic outreaches take off in one church and are about to start it in another. God has provided a place for us to stay and new ministry opportunities.
